Jonathan (Jon) Frank joined as Vice President at StoneWood Group to help organizations execute their mission and maximize their impact by finding them exceptionally talented leaders. Jon’s practice is anchored in sectors where he has focused his entire career, including clean energy and infrastructure, sustainable finance, green real estate, climate tech, and the broader environmental sustainability space. He also serves a wide range of other sectors like manufacturing, environmental services, financial services and technology.
With Jon’s deep expertise in sustainability-focused finance, development, engineering and construction and experience with start-ups, large private and public companies, as well as regulated financial institutions, he brings a unique perspective and skill set to the StoneWood Group team.
Alongside StoneWood Group, Jon is a member of the Green Municipal Fund Council, and is a member of the Investment Committee and Chair of the Low Carbon Cities Canada (LC3) Committee – the Green Municipal Fund is a $1.6B federally funded program to advance sustainability and resilience across Canada.
Prior to joining StoneWood Group, Jon had a successful career in clean energy project financing, development, EPC and M&A in the areas of renewable power generation, energy efficiency retrofits, geothermal heating and cooling, electric vehicle charging and energy storage. He was Head of Business Development, Clean Energy Finance at Vancity Community Investment Bank after the acquisition of CoPower in 2019 (a fintech enabled clean energy financing start-up that made the first retail accessible Green Bond products in North America) where he had served as Managing Director and Head of Projects. Prior to that, Jon was Director of Business Development at SunEdison, a global renewable energy developer, and Technical Sales at RESCo Energy a leading solar EPC firm.
Jon has served on several advisory committees on low carbon strategies for the Canadian Green Building Council, the City of Toronto, MaRS Discovery District, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and Low Carbon Cities Canada. Jon is also a partner in Frank Brothers Guitar Company, a family business with his brothers that crafts some of the best electric guitars on the planet.
