As the organization expands into new markets across North America, the company is seeking a highly strategic and  accomplished Chief Financial Officer to help guide its next phase of development.

Scope of Position

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic financial leadership across the organization. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions including strategic business and financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, capital management, business analytics, fundraising, and supporting the execution of the company’s growth strategy.

The successful candidate will bring a strong track record of financial leadership within high-growth financial
services, credit, or specialty finance organizations. This individual will play a critical role in scaling the company’s
financial infrastructure, optimizing capital deployment, and supporting the expansion of lending operations across North America.

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, the CFO will help guide key financial and strategic decisions,
strengthen financial and operational processes, and ensure the company maintains a disciplined approach to risk
management, capital efficiency, and financial reporting. The role will also be instrumental in navigating complex
financing structures, building strong relationships with capital providers, and implementing robust financial systems and controls to support continued growth.

Functional Tasks

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Provide financial leadership as a key member of the executive team, contributing to the company’s strategic
    planning, capital allocation decisions, and long-term growth strategy.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to evaluate new business opportunities, product
    initiatives, and geographic expansion, ensuring disciplined financial analysis and risk-adjusted return
    considerations.
  •  Develop and maintain robust financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, multi-year strategic planning, and rolling forecasts aligned with the company’s growth objectives.

Capital Strategy & Investor Relations

  • Lead the company’s capital raising strategy, including the structuring and execution of debt and equity
    financing to support lending growth and balance sheet expansion.
  • Develop and manage relationships with banks, institutional investors, private credit funds, family offices,
    and other capital providers, ensuring reliable and scalable funding sources.
  • Oversee negotiations and ongoing management of credit facilities, and other structured financing
    arrangements.
  • Prepare and present investor reporting materials, financial updates, and portfolio performance analytics to
    lenders, investors, and other capital partners.
  • Support due diligence processes and financial analysis associated with potential strategic partnerships, joint ventures, or capital transactions.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and treasury functions, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure the integrity of the company’s financial reporting processes, including maintenance of supporting documentation, reconciliations, and appropriate audit trails.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and advisors, coordinating annual audits and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies, and systems that support the company’s continued growth and operational complexity.
  • Lead the continued development and scaling of the finance function, including systems, reporting infrastructure, and organizational capabilities required to support a growing financial platform.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure finance processes, technology, and internal controls evolve in line with the company’s operational scale and complexity.

Portfolio Analytics, Risk & Performance Monitoring

  • Oversee financial and portfolio analytics related to the company’s lending activities, including loan portfolio
    performance, credit quality, loss trends, and portfolio concentration metrics.
  • Develop and enhance financial models, monitoring tools, and dashboards to support data-driven decision
    making and portfolio risk management.
  • Partner with credit and business line leaders to develop and monitor key performance indicators, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of business performance.

Liquidity, Treasury & Balance Sheet Management

  • Manage the company’s liquidity position, capital structure, and treasury operations to ensure efficient
    deployment of capital and adequate funding capacity to support loan originations and growth.
  • Monitor covenant compliance, borrowing base requirements, and other obligations associated with lending
    facilities and funding arrangements.
  • Provide ongoing analysis and recommendations regarding capital efficiency, leverage levels, and funding
    diversification.

Executive & Board Reporting

  • Present financial performance—including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and portfolio metrics—to
    executive leadership and ownership, providing clear analysis, strategic context, and actionable recommendations.
  • Support board and investor communications by preparing clear and insightful financial materials that
    highlight performance, trends, and key business drivers.

Preferred Experience / Education

The following indicates specific industry, academic and functional experience/qualifications that are important to the successful achievement of the identified responsibilities and performance deliverables.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Commerce, or Business Administration with a CA/CPA or equivalent
    professional designation.
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience including financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, accounting, and financial reporting within complex or high-growth organizations.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer or in a comparable senior financial
    leadership role, with demonstrated responsibility for strategic financial management, capital planning, and organizational growth.
  • Experience within financial services, specialty finance, private credit, or alternative lending platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience raising capital and managing relationships with banks, institutional investors, private credit funds, family offices, or other capital providers.
  • Strong understanding of private credit markets, structured financing arrangements, and capital structures, including the dynamics between senior lenders, subordinated lenders, and other capital partners.
  • Proven ability to build and scale finance functions, including financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and internal controls, within growing and entrepreneurial organizations.
  • Exceptional analytical, financial modeling, and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively engage lenders, investors, executive leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments requiring adaptability, sound judgment, and a hands-on leadership approach.
  • High personal integrity, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to ethical business practices.
