Allen Ballach brings over 25 years of executive search and selection experience to the StoneWood Group. He was the founder and CEO of Allen Ballach Associates Inc., a respected executive search boutique specializing in senior level international engagements to the advanced technology, aerospace and broadcast/communications market segments. Over his career, Allen has conducted hundreds of board and C-level search assignments throughout North America and Europe. He brings an extensive global network of industry contacts, business knowledge and experience to StoneWood Group’s Toronto Aerospace Practice.

Allen attended Ryerson University’s Industrial Engineering Technology program and the HRPA program at Durham College. He also holds associate memberships in Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC), Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), International Society of Automation (ISA), Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).

Bob Hebert is the founder and Managing Partner of StoneWood Group. Since 1981, he has helped firms across a wide range of sectors address their senior recruiting, assessment and leadership development requirements.

Bob also leads StoneWood’s CEO and Board practices, and devotes considerable time to developing and enhancing the firm’s tools and processes for such critical searches. He has also developed expertise in conducting executive searches for family- and owner-operated businesses. He consults and writes extensively on the issues that affect such organizations and how these must be taken in consideration when recruiting and making succession decisions.

Bob holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Relations (MIR) as well as a Doctorate in Adult Education (PhD), both from the University of Toronto. He lectures graduate students on senior-level recruiting and selection issues and methodologies.

Paul Hudson joined the executive search industry in 1996, working for a boutique executive search firm for a year before joining Russell Reynolds Associates. Prior to entering the executive search industry Paul had a successful career in the Canadian Forces as an infantry officer.

Paul joined StoneWood Group in 2002 and works with technology and industrial clients, as well as organizations backed by private equity. He has significant experience recruiting technology executives and finance professionals for a variety of industries.
An active community supporter, Paul is on the board of directors of the Chamber Music Society of Mississauga, and was a past board member of the Mississauga International Children’s Festival.

Paul has a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph, a B.A. from the University of Manitoba, and an M.B.A. from Simon Fraser University, where he specialized in Human Resource Management.

Lenka M. Los joined StoneWood Group to spearhead the firm’s Cleantech practice. She also focuses on companies in emerging technologies in Life Sciences and Entertainment & Media.

Skilled at relationship management and search execution, Lenka brings to the StoneWood Group extensive knowledge and experience gained in over 20 years as a search practitioner. Prior to joining StoneWood Group Lenka was a true generalist and conducted a multitude of executive level searches, primarily for a diverse portfolio of large international clients. Lenka also spent several years in independent practice, providing career management to high-potential business professionals from top consulting firms and marquee companies. Apart from her core experience in search, Lenka was a Field Director with Brendan Wood International, where she conducted research in conjunction with BWI’s global intelligence programs. As a Resourcing Consultant at CIBC, Lenka implemented Six Sigma processes in Retail Market recruiting.

Lenka first gained exposure to Cleantech working with the alternative energy group of an international oil company. Since joining StoneWood Group Lenka has been a tireless proponent of the sector, connecting the dots between centres of excellence and innovation, funding agencies and incumbent industries. Her work is well-represented across the various segments of the sector.

Lenka studied at the University of Windsor and earned two Honours degrees in History and International Relations.

Barry joined StoneWood Group in 2010 to help build StoneWood’s presence in the financial services vertical in Toronto and abroad. A current initiative for Barry at StoneWood Group is building a niche practice helping Asian based client’s source candidates in Canada for positions in their region.

An accomplished recruitment professional, Barry utilizes his diverse background in sales and account management to provide superior customer service to both his clients and candidates. Barry leverages strong industry knowledge and contacts to provide value added recruitment solutions to his financial services clients.

Specializing in financial services front to back office recruitment, Barry has specific expertise in risk management, finance, and IT supporting capital markets. Pierre’s high performance expertise in assessing, aligning and developing leaders, optimizing new and established executive teams and enhancing succession plans is based on success as an international business executive since 1980.

He founded CCI Leadership Strategies in1998, and has been recognized for successful one-on-one and group interventions in start-ups, SMEs and larger corporate entities. Pierre has also guided promising talent and helped emerging leaders attain their development objectives and deliver on their business plans.

Pierre was a consultant with Development Dimensions International (DDI) involved in their global executive leadership assessment practice, where he administered assessment centers, interpreted personality inventories, provided feedback to executives and developed action planning and coaching.

He is certified in the use of a number of products offered by the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) and the American Psychological Association-approved Hogan systems.  He is affiliated with the Human Capital Institute and is on the consulting roster of the Queen’s School of Business and the Niagara Institute. He has also been honoured by the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Sal Rocco’s client-centric and results-driven approach has resulted in the development of many of StoneWood Group’s most successful client relationships, which include both venture-backed, start-up companies and public corporations. He has guided many business development and sales searches, and been involved in strategic initiatives such as Access Search Partners and the FAST50. Sal's expertise spans all functional areas, and his clients count on his ability to identify and attract executives who 'rise above the noise' — both in North America and Europe.

Sal joined the retained search industry in 1999, after many successful years as a lawyer with two leading national law firms, where he advised clients from multiple industries on a broad range of domestic and international business issues. This experience has proven invaluable to Sal's success in the executive search industry.

Prior to obtaining his legal degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Sal obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business, York University.

Leigh Walsh has over 30 years experience in executive recruitment. Previously, he managed his own search practice under the name Snowdon Walsh Partners. Earlier in his career, he spent a number of years with AT Kearney Executive Search.

Leigh’s search activities have been in high-technology areas, with considerable focus on the telecommunications and wireless sectors. In addition, he has served clients in other sectors, including energy management, enterprise software and semiconductors. His client list includes service providers, product developers, manufacturers, vendors, consultants and systems integrators. They have included every model of organization, from large ‘blue-chip’ multinationals to small entrepreneurial start-ups.

Having spent a full career as a search practitioner, Leigh has encountered every trend and challenge, and developed, tested and validated his best practices in real-time. Leigh’s strength lies in his conviction that, in spite of the advanced state of recruitment tools and resources, there is no magic. The best results derive from exhaustive efforts coupled with a genuine understanding of the position and the client’s pain points.
